Oklahoma Unorganized Militia

The Oklahoma Unorganized Militia, shortened to the Oklahoma militia, is a component of the military of Oklahoma. The Militia is composed of the citizens of Oklahoma which are capable of bearing arms. The Militia consists of ordinary citizens between the ages of 17-70 and may be called upon to provide defense, emergency law enforcement, or paramilitary service without a regular salary or fixed term of service. The primary purpose of the Militia is to defend local communities against forces that threaten the public peace and security.
